The Paediatric Dentist is a specialist dental practitioner who is dedicated to the care of the oral health of children, from the very young to those in their teenage years, and those patients with special needs.
Paediatric dentists have completed a postgraduate university degree in addition to their dental degree. The training is university and hospital based at one of the major Children's Hospitals. This provides paediatric dentists with the additonal skills required to manage the wide variety of dental conditions that occur in young people and those with special needs. This advanced training is what distinguishes a Specialist Paediatric Dentist from a general dentist, dental therapist or dental hygienist.
During the Covid pandemic please ensure the child attends with one parent or carer only. Please practice social distancing. If the patient has any symptoms of a cold or flu or they have been to a recognised Covid hot spot, please contact the rooms to make another appointment.
